  • 2 cups mashed sweet potatoes (about 2 medium, cooked and peeled) Use freshly cooked sweet potatoes for the best flavor.
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon Can be adjusted based on preference.
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg Can be adjusted based on preference.
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger Can be adjusted based on preference.
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 9-inch unbaked pie crust Use traditional or graham cracker crust.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine mashed sweet potatoes, condensed milk, eggs, melted butter, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and salt. Beat until smooth and creamy.
  • Pour the mixture into the unbaked pie crust and smooth the top.

Baking

  • Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until the center is set and a knife inserted comes out clean.
  • Let cool completely before slicing. Chill for 2 hours for best texture.

Notes

For serving, add whipped cream on top and a dusting of cinnamon. Store leftovers in the refrigerator, covered, for up to 4 days. To freeze, wrap the pie before baking and thaw before baking.
