Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 3 eggs Use room temperature for best results.
  • 1 cup milk Use regular milk.
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil or melted butter Either option works well.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Chocolate Batter Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp extra milk For chocolate batter.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a round cake pan.
  • In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.

Making the Batter

  • Divide the batter into two bowls.
  • Add cocoa powder and extra milk to one bowl. Mix well to create the chocolate batter.

Baking

  • Alternate spoonfuls of the vanilla and chocolate batter into the greased pan.
  • Use a knife or skewer to swirl the batters gently for a marbled effect.
  • Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Let the cake cool before slicing. Optionally, dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

To keep your marble cake fresh, store it in an airtight container at room temperature for up to four days. For longer storage, refrigerate or freeze individual slices in plastic wrap and then foil.
