Ingredients
  

For the crust

  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs Can use store-bought for convenience.
  • 1/4 cup sugar Regular granulated sugar.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted Make sure it's fully melted before mixing.

For the cream filling

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened Let it sit at room temperature for easier mixing.
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar Add more for a sweeter flavor if desired.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a bowl, mix the graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter until combined.
  • Press the mixture into the bottom of a greased 9x9 inch baking dish.

Baking

  • Bake the crust for about 10 minutes, then let it cool.

Cream Filling

  • In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  • Spread the cream cheese layer over the cooled crust evenly.

Chilling

  • Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before cutting into bars.

Notes

Serve chilled, topped with fresh lemon zest or whipped cream for extra flavor. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 4-5 days or freeze for up to a month.
