Ingredients
  

For the bars

  • 1 box yellow cake mix (15.25 oz)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup toffee bits (such as Heath bits or chopped toffee)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips optional, but highly recommended
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking dish.
  • In a large bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, melted butter, and egg, mixing until well combined.
  • Stir in the toffee bits and optional chocolate chips into the batter.
  • Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
  • Drizzle the sweetened condensed milk over the top of the batter.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  • Allow to cool before cutting into bars and serving.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to a week. For longer freshness, refrigerate. Use quality toffee, don’t overbake, and try different cake mixes for unique flavors.
